Growing Materials with Nature

At Rebound, we believe building materials should be grown. That's why we use biotechnology to ferment natural fibres and mycelium into biomaterials with low energy consumption and without unnecessary chemicals.

We use renewable natural fibres sourced from Danish agriculture, much of which originates from underutilised agricultural by-products.

Rather than extracting new resources, we create new value from biomass that would otherwise be burned or discarded.

The construction industry needs greater diversity in material choices and more naturally derived alternatives.

Rebound's products are developed to replace conventional materials where they make the greatest impact, contributing to a more balanced use of natural resources.

Mycelium binds natural fibres into strong acoustic materials while requiring only minimal energy during production.

The materials store biogenic carbon, while nature performs much of the manufacturing process itself.

The result is healthy biomaterials with a significantly lower environmental footprint.

Mycelium Replaces Plastic and Cement as Nature's Own Binder

Natural fibres are fused together through a fermentation process, where mycelium partially breaks down the fibres before binding them into a durable biomaterial. By replacing conventional binders such as plastic and cement, the process significantly reduces both carbon emissions and waste.

The resulting material stores biogenic carbon throughout its lifetime, further lowering its environmental footprint.
